Philip Crane was raised in South Jordan, Utah. He attended Bingham High School and lettered in baseball, basketball, football, and track. He served a full-time mission in the Philadelphia Pennsylvania mission. Philip played baseball for Ricks College and Bellevue University in Nebraska. Philip received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and his master’s degree in Health Education. Since graduating, he has worked at the Bear River Health Department and taught at Utah State University. He has worked at BYU-Idaho for the past 20 years. Philip and his wife, KaraDawn, have been married for 29 years. They have five children, one daughter-in-law, Jessica, and one grandchild, Roman. Philip enjoys teaching, coaching, playing sports with his kids, going to their games with his wife, vacationing with his family, and playing basketball and golf. He has served in a campus Bishopric and has held many other church leadership callings. His favorite calling is serving in the nursery with his wife.
