Jake Romney grew up with his three older brothers in Spokane, Washington, where he enjoyed playing sports such as soccer and football. From 2003–2005, Jake served as a full-time missionary in the Philadelphia Pennsylvania Mission. He attended Brigham Young University and earned a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in family life. He subsequently earned his juris doctorate degree at BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School. He has taught in the religion department at BYU-Idaho since 2012. He previously served in the college of education and human development as the associate dean of online. While attending school at BYU, Jake met and married Nicole Cannariato. They are the parents of five children—three boys and two girls. Jake enjoys watching BYU sports, playing sports, reading books with his wife, and spending time with his family. He currently serves as a high councilor in the Rexburg West Stake.
