Byron Gilbert served as a missionary in the New York Rochester Mission. He has been employed at BYU-Idaho for 21 years. Before he was hired for his current position, he worked as a chemistry stockroom supervisor, hazardous materials specialist, and fire protection officer. Byron and his wife, Janine, have been married for 28 years. They have two children—a son and a daughter. Byron enjoys golfing, spending time with family, and taking his camper trailer out as often as he can. He has served in nearly every calling in the Young Men program and Boy Scouts, and as gospel doctrine teacher, ward clerk and ward executive secretary. He is currently serving as the first councilor in the Hibbard 1st Ward Bishopric.
