Doug Barker was born in Mount Vernon, Washington, and raised in St. Anthony, Idaho. He served a full-time mission in Auckland, New Zealand. He attended both Ricks College and Utah State University and earned a certificate in Law Enforcement from Idaho State University. Doug has been employed at BYU-Idaho for twenty years. Before working as Clery Act Compliance Coordinator, he held the position of public safety officer. He also has been employed with prior law enforcement and has served in the United States Army Reserves. Doug is married to his high school sweetheart, Ryalene. They have two sons, two daughters, and three grandchildren, with a fourth on the way. Brother Barker is currently serving as a Sunday School teacher in his ward.
