Barbara McKenna was raised in the state of Texas. She came to Ricks College for school with a strong desire to be around other people of her faith. She has worked at the Financial Aid Office at BYU-Idaho for fifteen years. During her employment at BYU-Idaho, she earned a bachelor’s degree in university studies. She also has received her master’s degree in management and leadership. Barbara currently resides in Rigby, Idaho, with her husband, Alvin, who is a public school teacher. Between the two of them, they have seven children and 13 grandchildren. Sister McKenna has served in many different callings in the Church and is currently a Relief Society teacher in her ward.
