Details

Scott Johnson was raised in Cache Valley, Utah, and served as a full-time missionary in the Korea Pusan Mission. He received both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemistry from Brigham Young University, followed by his PhD in organic chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Before being employed at BYU-Idaho, he worked in research and development in the chemical industry for 24 years. Scott met his wife, Melanie Jensen, while he was a student at BYU. They have seven children, five of whom are married, and twelve grandchildren, with two more on the way. In his free time, Scott enjoys cycling, cooking, and watching movies with his wife. He has held several callings in the Church, including nursery worker, Sunday School teacher, stake Young Men president, bishop, and stake president. He is currently the stake Sunday School president and serves on the high council in his stake.  Watch here: www.byui.edu/devotionals.
