Details

Kathleen Flake is currently the Richard L. Bushman Professor of Mormon Studies at the University of Virginia. Prior to her appointment at Virginia, she taught at Vanderbilt University in both the Divinity School and Graduate Department of Religion. 
Kathleen received her bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, her juris doctorate from the University of Utah, her master’s degree in Religious Studies from Catholic University of America, and her Ph.D. in History of Christianity from the University of Chicago. Before becoming an academic, she was a litigation attorney in Washington, D.C. She has held office in the American Academy of Religion, the American Society of Church History, and the Southeastern Commission for the Study of Religion. She has published two books, as well as articles in several scholarly journals. She has also served on the editorial boards of three religious journals. Sister Flake served a two-year mission in Japan and has served in a variety of Church leadership positions. Watch Here: https://www.byui.edu/live.
