Details

Born and raised in Southern California, William Brugger converted to the Church in 1983. Following a mission to Paraguay, he earned a bachelor’s degree in English and master’s degree in American literature and literary theory from BYU. He also received a graduate minor in Church history and doctrine. A few years later, he earned master’s and Ph.D. degrees in British literature from Drew University, writing a dissertation on LDS migration literature. He was a technical writer in Utah prior to receiving his full-time teaching position at Ricks College in 1993. In addition, he’s taught at BYU, Seton Hall, Fairleigh Dickinson, Drew, and Utah Valley Universities. He’s married and is the father of six children, and a grandpa to two grandsons.
