Devotional: Joel Galbraith

Joel Galbraith currently serves as Online Academic Support Director at BYU-Idaho with primary responsibility over online tutoring and teaching assistants. Prior to this role, he was director of Online Instruction at BYU-Idaho for 10 years. He has worked in online learning for over 25 years in multiple capacities. He has a passion for the promise and access that online education offers learners worldwide.

Brother Galbraith loves to travel and explore near and far from home. He is an accomplished photographer–an interest that started at Ricks College as a photography major. He earned a bachelor of arts in film, and later a master’s and a PhD degree in education from BYU and Penn State University. He and his wife, Shaleign, both served German-speaking missions in Switzerland and Germany respectively. They have lived in Utah, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Idaho. They have five children and two adorable grandchildren, with one on the way.
